Interview for Explosion Cerebral from Peru with Martin

1- Why Fondle Corpse, how were the first days of the band?
Fondlecorpse as a name comes from a drawing i did in the early 90's and i wrote down the name Fondlecorpse under it and thought hey this would make a great bandname. Maybe it has become a bit of a outdated name with corpse in it but thats the point we are an oldschool band so it fits just right hehehe. As for the first days/years of the band sucked, we have gone thru tons of line-up changes etc etc and now after so many years this will be our first fucking release, usually the people left the band just when we finished 10 or so songs for a cd which has been very frustrating and probably something many metalbands will recognize. I am amazed ive been able to keep it alive hahaha. But we hope to start a proper attack now with a shitload of releases, because we have some catching up to do.

2- Which are your main influences to write your lyrics and to do your music?
The influence to doing the music is simple, i started listening to deathmetal and grind in my childhood and it just never left me, it's as some would say metal isn't a trend its a way of life, it seems true to me. I just need to do it need to create sickly shit and worship gore. Lyrically i am influenced by everything i like and is mainly worshipping gore and b-movies, all kinds of comics and magazines, cartoons your basic 80's trashculture worship.

3- Can you present each of the Fondle Corpse's releases out so far?
Well thats going to be a short list, but we are hoping to change that very fast, our first split seven inch with the sick fuckers of Inkblack who play oldschool trashdeath, has been send to the pressing plant. So it should see the light in the upcoming weeks. Furthermore work is underway for our full seven inch called LIMBLESS with art by Jake again and should be recorded soon, than we have a split cd planned with the moshgods of Engorged and art by Dennis Dread and than on to our first full cd the Creaturegore CD.

4- Also what was the main inspiration for you to start Fondle Corpse?
Ever since i heard the first bands with a dirty vile grunt i was hooked and i wanted to do that too. All the old death/grind/gore bands of 80’s start 90’s inspired me to go and spawn a band of my own. And ive been in and out bands since. For me it's kinda compulsory to do music or be busy with something related to it like zines. If i sit still for a too long period without doing a band i get itchy. Fondlecorpse on a whole is inspired by bad B-movies, and 80’s trashculture all the way. We see our songs as sickly little mini movies/comics/cartoons with each their own atmosphere and feel. Fondlecorpse exists because it represents my daily life which consists of watching horror and surrounding myself with all kinds of 80’s trashculture memorabilia listening to all kinds of gore /grind /death/ noize and basicaly being a childish idiot hahaha \m/

5- Did you ever performed live shows so far, with what bands have you played?
Some songs have been played of Fondlecorpse in the past, tried out a few on a gig in 2000 but no real Fondlecorpse live shows have been played. Maybe we wil do some in the future, but i am also not much of a people person so gigs will be limited.

6- Is Fondle Corpse a very first band for you all, have you been playing in any other band before?
Ive been playing in multiple bands starting in the early 90's, most are too bad to talk about or i wish them nothing but pain and suffering hahaha, but there were some okay ones, i played for a few years in a deathmetal band Moronic long time ago, and more recent i did a band Slamfist, which was more deathtrashgrind, but on a total different level, more about pagan subjects and history based lyrics another intrest of mine. It was more serious what topics was concerned. It is quite dead now. They were just footnotes and sideprojects on my way to realizing and finding the right people for the couchpotatoe gore worpship band which is FONDLECORPSE. Also the rest of the bandmembers have been around and have or still play in different other projects and bands.

7- What do you know of Peru or Southamerica?
Well most of what i know about Peru is because of my intrest for history and warrior cultures and mummies, ive always had an intrest for the great Inca culture and empire and their weird interesting artifacts and deities. Also read a lot about the conquistadors led by pizarro and their conquests. And the strange mummy bundles found in peru too. I know Peru has a very volatile history of wars and violence and is just enetering a stable period these days. So thats how I know most of Peru, and of course the rainforests and people who dissapear into that unforgiving fucker Peru has got some beautifull nature but it’s also fucking unforgiving and dangerous from what i heard. Thats pretty much my knowledge on the subject. About most Southamerican countries i know basic facts and if they have interesting history ill know about that i probably can locate most countries on the map.

8- Are you involved in other projects, how do you support the underground apart of the band?
Ive always been working on other projects in the undeground be it big or small, and i help out fellow maniacs where and when i can, I spread peoples flyers, help out bands, design shit, draw stuff, do lay-outs, and also i help out Jake with his killer zine Tales From Uranus by doing interviews and stuff for it . I am a firm believer that you should show your support for the scene with action and not just words like i see a lot of people do, shut the fuck up and DO something.

9- What do you think about NU Metal, is good called them metal, why?
Nu-metal in my opinion sucks cock and is for sissies who don't dare to do real brutal stuff, they wanna be tough and at the same time not lose their popular spot on the map and godforbid won't get em as much girls. Their wankers and pathetic thats all i want to say about the subject they should call it NU-PoP thats what it is.

10- How do you see the development of the world, are you agree with the actual politic situation of the world?
Life is pain, your only salvation is death. The world is fucked and the human race is a plague on it including myself. Hell without our "tools" most humans would die because their idiots uncapable to fend for themselves, we have become a pittifull species. Thats what i think, humans are always on their way to selfdestruction. I support anything that will speed up the proces, humans suck!!!

11- Any future plan?
Future plans would be to keep going strong in living the gory demented stuck in 80’s trashculture kinda lifestyle, i wonder if i can make better grunting burping noizes when i lose all my teeth and have fake teeth hehe and wonder how i can keep on doing a band when i am in a wheelchair and ill invent a new genre old geezer grind!!!! 60+ years olds making sick deathgrind that would be cool hahaha, But basically just go on and on with making old school death/grind/goremetal and doing shit like the zine and being active in the underground.
